OSBF knows no bounds- OSBF goes international

Open source knows no boundaries- and now too, the Open Source Business Foundation. Disperse yet collective collaboration is the crux of open source, its dynamism and fascination. In line with philosophy, OSBF is broadening its horizons to the international, spreading to a larger dispersion and opening to even more active participants.

To coordinate the necessary structural and organizational tasks which arise, the OSBF has expanded to an elected board with indivdual areas of responsiblity. Michael Kienle, Managing Director of member company It-novum, will take on this task as of 15 January 2009 and translate the success of the OSBF in Germany abroad.

Just as before, every individual and company not residing or registered in Germany may join the OSBF (Germany). The difference will be that the OSBF concept and its services can now be offered in other countries to suit their needs, while drawing from the synergies of a single connected organization.

Local groups can benefit from instant access to existing organizational structures, working groups, initiatives, expertise and networks. Specifically, the first branch abroad is already scheduled for mid May 2009, to be opened in Austria. Initial discussions for similar branches are underway for Switzerland, Spain and other countries.

New initiatives to establish branches in other countries are always welcome. The OSBF looks forward to your queries.

As open source grows, the OSBF hopes to play an active role in shaping it.
